Walking in the forest is always a meditation for me.
Modern life is filled with stressful days and we all need ways to find an inner quiet.
One way I find gentle relief is to go for a hike and just gather a few specimens of different colors. I choose things I like: a leaf, an interesting lichen-covered twig, a little moss. Whatever catches my eye. Back at home, I spend a few minutes with my simple watercolors and try to mix colors to replicate the day’s palette. It doesn’t have to be perfect by any means.
This is just an experiment in looking closely and letting the colors play together.
I love the soothing colors of the winter forest. Something about this combination gives my heart a calm satisfaction— an inner joy laced with peace.
Each microseason has a color palette with subtle shifts and surprises. What’s that look like for you today? Do you enjoy these colors? Is there something coherent in the way they fit together?
Wishing you a lovely day,
