It's so wonderful to be able to go on these walks with you, Ann. Hopefully, one day I'll be able to go on walks like these myself. In the mean time, I soak up your words and your images, and they have a soothing effect on me.
Beautiful Gnome! He has such a lovely presence 😊 and loved the photos accompanying todays Microseasons post - many thanks for imparting the beauty of this life and the world we inhabit 🙏💜
Wonderful description! Here in Maine, fall is usually very vibrant, the forests turning brilliant colors against a backdrop of deep evergreen topped by wide blue skies. This year, it's different - it's warmer, it's overcast, it's wet, and you can see the stress on a landscape that endured unusual heat, drought, and storms this summer. It's a bit wistful and a bit weary, though still very lovely. Grace under pressure.
The persistent Beauty of nature is humbling. Always a reminder to savor what is here and now. Sydney, your Instagram is gorgeous. I hope you'll find Substack to be a lively and welcoming creative space.
I'm so glad you had a long-time gnome friend to keep you company in the forest. I'm guessing he comes clad in many memories, as well as his handsome felt hat and trousers.
The gnomes are adorable! The part of the planet that is calling to me today is the ocean. It may be a few weeks before I can get there, but I always return there.
Child Day! That sounds lovely. Your sacrifice in giving your daughter what she needs right now is so loving. I’m glad you’re also staying aware of what you need, Berkana. Your memories of the forest and “the sky hugging”you are powerful and poetic. I wonder if you might want to write about this feeling in a journal or by making a book of forest poems? This might make the waiting easier for you in this phase of your life.
I spent many of the last years of my life taking care of what was outside of me, because of the responsibilities that life brought that I even forgot this certain way I have for writing
also because I like many ways of expressing art
in itself
I've had my diaries always , but nothing structured to really write, with focus and objective
But this year something very incredible messed with all my creative energy
a wonderful soul came into my life and has been inspiring me deeply
I think I'm taking my first timid steps into this world of writing like grown-ups Ann

Conny, we walk together in a word-forest. Thank you for coming along with me.🌿✨
These pictures!!! They’re so cozy.
Thank you, Isabelle--I wish I had a little moss bed, too! 💚

He is a beloved little friend, who still watches over us from his perch on a shelf in our dining room. ☺️❤️🍄
This is lovely Ann, you made an awesome gnome!
Here in the mountains of British Columbia we’ve had unseasonably warm, spectacular weather. Like summer without the fires and bugs🙂
But now it has turned to the kind of weather you describe, damp and cloudy. But the air is so fresh and delicious!
I feel your excitement at this change of seasons, Donna. I hope it brings you an abundance of creative energy for your work and life this year!
Thank you Ann, you too!
Oh my goodness, the gnome! 😍 Thank you for the whimsy and warmth in this piece. The gentle Beech tree eyes touch my soul.
I’m so glad you like them, Al. I love to share these forest friends with you.🍄

Thanks, my friend. I know you’ll enjoy that ocean time whenever it’s possible for you. Soon I hope.

It is child day in my country
Your post came in a perfect time Ann
What a cute gnome ... delicate content, all ✨
And all this brought me a feeling... and a huge finding...I’m missing the forest that I left in the last country that I lived 🥹
It was much easy to me to be immerse there , every day , for many years
My mornings there started 5 am with mountain meditation and sunrise
The sky was always hugging me
Here I’m in the beautiful island but it is a quite big site to me now
I have to drive a car to go.... I don’t like it
But sometimes I go
I decided to live close to my daughter s school to be more sustainable
Then even to go to the beach it is 20m by car

This was beautiful, Ann. And may you, too, feel sheltered and filled with Peace during this season.
I need to hear that. Thank you, Roseanne 🙏
My favorite time of the year. Plus: gnomes!!
What more could we possibly want? 🍄
