I haven’t heard of this concept before but I really like it. I have a few favourite trees and flowers in my garden and it feels like they only bloom for a week or two at most. So even in a relatively small space I can see the microseasons at work and am learning to appreciate the rhythm of nature in my garden.

It’s one of those ideas that once you start looking for tiny changes, you’ll start to see them everywhere. I notice microseasonal changes at the farmer’s market, around my town, in my own energy levels, etc. I hope this idea brings you joy every day. Thanks for reading!🌿

I am new to your substack and to the concept of microseasons, and I love this so much! The Japanese names of the microseasons are lovely--reading through them is like reading a poem of the year. Perhaps some day I will know my own place well enough to write a similar poem. An inspiring thought!

I have enjoyed exploring your archives, and I am delighted and inspired to have discovered your work. Thank you so much for sharing!

I love this! In The Bahamas, I’ve long advocated our different set of seasons (Mango Season, Avocado Season, Lobster Season, Royal Poinciana Season & more). I adore how this encourages noticing even more seasons and closer attention to nature’s amazing rhythms. Thank you for sharing this! 🙏🏼✨🌺
